The burgeoning digital economy urgently needs graduates who are vastly versed in the intricacies, applications, and dynamics of the emergent economy. Such graduates are, however, relatively few in the world and completely absent in Nigerian and similar contexts. This paucity makes employment in the economy comparatively easy and satisfactorily rewarding. The E- Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Bachelor Degree Programme is designed and accredited by the Obafemi Awolowo University and the National Universities Commission, respectively, to meet this challenge. Given the urgent global demand for this category of graduates, the program is made flexible to enable students within and outside Nigeria to become digital extension professional-cum-community engineers by studying mainly in the comfort of their homes and offices.

The program is administered through the latest e-learning technology that breaks the barrier between classroom and home to offer excellent digital teaching-learning practices and experiences across the globe. The program, facilitated by e-learning certified professors, through the Center for Distance Learning at Obafemi Awolowo University, offers a platform that blends innovations, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary theories and practical experiences, and real world issues into various e-learning modules that collectively produce all-round trailblazer and globally competitive Agricultural graduates within a period of three to four years. Although the cost of the tuition is relatively cheap and has flexible payment options, the program offers a limited number of scholarships to the historically marginalized female gender.
