- Programme Objectives
- The Programme is designed to produce industry-ready interior design professionals. The programme will develop knowledge and professional skills in the design, spatial planning and adaptive re-use of interior spaces of a variety of building types such as institutional, commercial, residential/housing and mixed-use buildings. The programme is particularly for persons seeking to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming interior design professionals;
- Train candidates to acquire knowledge and skills in interior design;
- Introduce candidates to the cultural, local, global and sustainability issues which influence interior design.
- Educate candidates to approach the design of interiors through systematic procedures; and also to train candidates to acquire professional skills to practice interior design
- Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the M.ID programme must satisfy all the general admission requirements of the University with evidence of NYSC and shall be:
- graduates of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,.
- graduate of any other University as recognized by the Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University; or
- Candidates with professional qualifications recognized by the Senate of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
- Candidates shall normally possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) Honours degree to be eligible for admission. Candidates with a third class degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University may be considered under certain conditions as stipulated in the regulations concerning postgraduate studies. Applicants from other Universities must possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) Honours degree to be eligible for admission.
- In addition, applicants must possess university degrees in Architecture or any discipline in the Environmental Design and Management fields. However, applicants with degrees in other disciplines (not in Architecture or any Environmental Design and Management field) who have had at least 5 years post qualification experience in a design firm or a related industry may also be considered for admission. Admission for applicants with degrees in other disciplines (not in Architecture or any Environmental Design and Management field) but with 5 years’ post qualification experience in a design firm or a related industry shall depend on satisfactory performance at the admission test administered by the Department/University.
